Introduction:

One of the best parts about studying abroad for both Jen and Ben has been the opportunity to live with a local host family. The family speaks no English at all so they are able to speak a lot of Spanish at home and they have really loved seeing how people in other countries live.

Students, in this module you will learn all about the house and home. You will learn how to tell about your own home, describe the homes of others, and ask new friends about where they live. Whether it's a house or an apartment in the city or by the beach, you'll learn all you need to know in order to talk about it en español!

  • What is your home like?
  • Can you describe the homes of others?
  • What is you home like in the US?
  • What is your host family's home like?
  • How your home in the US similar/different from your host family's home?

What to Expect:

 

What students will know:

  • Estar + prepositions
  • Possessive adjectives (my,your, his/her) (review)
  • Verb conjugation:
  • Present tense of verb "to have" (review)
  • Present tense of verbs "to live," "to prepare," "to dine,"etc.
  • Prepositions of location (on, in under)
  • The expressions: "there is," "Is there?," "What is there..? (review)
